For many years, bedrooms were the poor relations of the cabinet and joinery portfolio. Bedroom cupboards were designed to fill the spaces available. Recesses were built to allow for cupboards to fit between walls and door sizes were made as big as possible to keep the prices lower as prices were a ratio of surface area to number of doors. In recent times this has changed. Bedrooms are more compact and the available space needed to be utilized fully. The choices have grown and there is an abundance of choice to satisfy every need. In the choice of bedroom finishes one should always consider that the cupboard itself is less fashion driven than the finishes in the room itself. Try not to choose bedroom cupboards that are going to be limiting or become dated when you or a future owner come to re-furbish or re-decorate the room .
